Our area of southern France is experiencing a minor heatwave. Our walk today was long with temperatures in the 80s, so the pictures and Relive video are going to have to tell the story. It didn’t help that I somehow lost my hat. Yes, I am very sad. My phone number is in it. Hopefully someone will call. Fortunately, tomorrow will only be about two thirds as long even though the temperatures will still be hot.
We started in Condom which is the home to d’Artagnan of the Three Musketeers. That is actually an historical novel based on a local from the area. Like many novels there is an element of truth to it. Condom memorializes the link with larger than life statues.

Scenes from the trail. Not included is the quick brown fox that raced across the trail towards the end of the day. Slow enough that I got a good look, but too fast for a photo. The most exotic wildlife we (or in this case, just me) have seen in three plus weeks on the trail. It was not a house cat. You will have to take my word for it.

It was a great place. It was nice in that we had a private room and in this case, the place to ourselves! Doing the communal thing is fun but it is nice to be on our own once in awhile.
Was that one of the better accommodations for a gite as far as sleeping arrangements?
